For the last time, NO! Steam OS is BASED on linux ...
It is it's own OS much like windows.
If you badly so want to play these precious third party games I suggest you stick with the HD twins. (This is your only and final option despite the fact that you'll likely ignore this recommendation as steam machines will NOT get worthwhile games. Just you wait and see how that thing will turn out and you'll be thankful about it later on ...)
Even Nintendo fans themselves like rol find the damn thing repulsive.
