Is the Steam Machine a good option for Nintendo console gamers?

I'm not sure if it will be or not. It's possible if not likely that some of the Steam Machine manufacturers will offer a dual boot Windows 8/Steam OS option for their Steam Machines.

So why can't he just buy a pre-built PC and install steam on it ? Some of the pre-built PC's have some decent performance per price ...
