Please, let's not give Sony credit for something it doesn't deserve.  Capture devices on consoles were out years before Sony even came out with the original Play Station. 

 

Controller free gaming was first done on the PS2 I think, the Kinect is just an improved version

Microsoft couldnt even come up with an original name with the Kinect when it launched on the Xbox 360, they stole it from a PS2 line of hands free camera controlled games
