Told ya guys for months ... home console market in Japan is dead, not even the PS4 was saving it.
From now on, anyone who's making a dedicated home console needs to make it tailored for Western audiences first, they are 95% of the console market (it's time to accept facts). Nintendo made a major mistake in designing the Wii U largely for the Japanese household IMO (the whole off-TV play was meant to tailor to the Japanese trend of playing handhelds at home, most American homes have more TVs and off-TV play is just a useless feature in many American homes). At least Sony still has North America and Europe to sell to.
There is no audience for consoles anymore in Japan in a mass sense.
