You have to also look at who has already been utilized. Sucker Punch JUST launched Infamous so don't expect a game from them soon Uncharted is looking like its pretty far away considering the layoffs / very little info Guerrilla put out Killzone only 6 months ago, and while I know they have another IP coming down the pipe it is most likely still at BEST a year away Santa Monica just had a big chunk of staff layed off, one of their most important devs leave the company, and a big brand new IP canceled.
Now that isn't just doom and gloom for Sony by any means, and as I said they are traditionally very strong with software. They very well could come out and blow our socks off at E3 with tons of amazing reveals. That being said many of the big players seem to be quite a ways away from launching another game for the PS4. |
Guerrilla putting out Killzone 6 months ago is irrelevant, thery are a two team studio. Santa Monica is massive and is said to still have God of War 4 and another new IP in development.
You are also forgetting quite a few. Sony Bend have a new IP that is yet to be announced, as do Media Molecule and Quantic Dream. Sony Japan has a few new IPs rumored to be in develoment and are also co-developing Project Beast. PS4 sounds worse off only when you forget just how many studios they have/work with.
Now the ones I added might not be as big as SSM or ND but it only takes one great game. If The Order 1886 metas above 85 and sells well Ready at Dawn instantly become a great developer.(and hopefully Sony buys them)
