Adding more to your list. I think the reason quality went down is that Sakaguchi left Squaresoft before the merger and took a lot of people with him. He was pretty much replaced during that time anyways as he didn't have a hand in developing any PS2 titles as far as I know. Kind of like Kojima with Lords of Shadow, I think he's credited for some titles he has nothing to do with. |
Looking at both of these posts makes me sad.
I was always a gamer, but I became a BIG TIME gamer after playing FFIII (FF VI) on my PC with an emulator. After that I purchase FFVII, VIII, IX, Vagrant Story, SaGa Frontier,Parasite Eve, etc... I was a huge JRPG fanatic back then.
Then Square changed. PS2 was good. Not as stellar as the PS1, but it was indeed good.
Last gen they were just flat out terrible and seemed to not care at all what their fanbase wanted. Now even with Wada gone it continues.
Saddens me to say that I will not weep when that company goes the way of the DoDo.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
