they can make a hardcore game for a fraction of the cost and sell it to a market that is larger than the alternative

and plenty of hardcore gamers will have a wii as well, if not all 3 consoles...and as more hardcore games are released, more hardcore games will come to the wii attracting more hardcore gamers etc etc etc

kinda like psx/ps2 getting hardcore games even tho they had more of a casual focus
