Wii U will have a 2D Mario, a 3D Mario, a main Zelda, a spin-off Zelda (Hyrule Warriors), a HD Zelda remake (WW), the standard Mario Kart, Smash Bros, sequels to Wii Fit and Wii Party, repositioned Wii Sports (Club), a new Pikmin, a new Donkey Kong Country.

Plus Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade 2, LEGO City, Fatal Frame, Yarn Yoshi, SMT x Fire Emblem, Pokken Tournament Fighters, Nintendo Land, and NFC toys.

Throw in a few more unannouced games like a Metroid U, a Mario Party U, maybe a Mario Galaxy HD Collection ... and that's good enough for Nintendo to call it a day with the Wii U. That's equal or better than Nintendo's GameCube output, if you're still going to complain after that, you have seriously warped ideas about how much a company can realistically invest in a format that has a userbase of only 15-18 million users.

Projects like Mario Galaxy 3, the next Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 3, Retro's next game, (all of which I do believe are early in development) will quietly be moved over to Nintendo's future Fusion platform. Maybe if its really easy to port, they will consider Wii U ports, so that might be the Wii U's saving grace for 2016/17.
