It's time for early results: a hint of what's to come!

So far, we have 65 full ballots of votes and one guwho was only looking forward to 1 game, adding up to 980 points. 112 skus have been voted upon, including 20 with only one point each.

Anyway, the leaders so far in no particular order are Super Smash Bros for the Wii U, Super Smash Bros for the 3DS, and X. All things considered, it looks like last month's Smash Bros Direct was a big success around here. Either that, or Mario Kart's absence left a lot of room for these games to grow into.

Other big skus (20+ points) include

  • Bayonetta 2
  • Destiny (PS4)
  • Final Fantasy 15 (PS4)
  • Halo 5
  • Metal Gear Solid 5 (PS4)
  • Persona 5
  • Sunset Overdrive
  • Tales of Xilia 2
  • Tomodachi Life
  • Uncharted

One thing worth noting is that even with Smash Bros rising upwards, Nintendo as a publisher is proportionatelly smaller than last month so far, though that may change with yesterday's Pokemon announcement. Also worth noting is that this Nintendo decline is mostly for the Wii U, not the 3DS, where both Smash Bros and Tomodachi Life grew a lot since last month.

The main contest this month seems to be the Wii U versus the PS4. Each are in the 250 to 300 point range, and are separated by about two ballots worth of votes. Another contest was going to be "JRPG vs. Shooter," but Pokemon's reveal kind of ruined that.

Oddly enough, people on this site seem to be Japanophiles. Other than Microsoft, which is a first party, the biggest Western publisher is Warner Bros, with only 47 points.* Both Square Enix and Atlus are larger. Furthermore, Namco Bandai/Bandai Namco/Bamco/ANS or whatever you call them is bigger than Activision despite the latter's fairly well received Call of Duty reveal, and Konami is on par with EA.

Of course, this is based on only a quarter of the voting time! Reminders to vote will go out soon, and new voters have a chance to show up! Still, I'll be hinting at the results whenever I need to bump this thread on my Buddy, so feel free to stay tuned!

*Not every game has been assigned a publisher yet, so this number, like all publisher numbers, may rise.
