Things I remember about last years E3:

PS4: hey everyone, we won't do DRM *everyone goes batshit crazy*
Wii U: Mega Man reveal in Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8 reveal, epic Project X trailer, oh look a new Mario game that doesn't look all that great (then months later looked amazing)
That being said, I don't think Nintendo was fully prepared for how the media outlets would handle their new way presenting their stuff. This year, they look much more organized (Holding the Smash tourney inside the Nokia Theatre is going to yield much more publicity, which will lead to more widespread release of info to the public on their entire agenda)
