I wouldn't mind if it were like Reddit, with an up and down vote system (as long as people adhere to the intended rules of upvoting/downvoting). Then something like this would get buried. Self-modding, essentially. Crappy threads would never make it to the "front page" of VGC. Troll comments would get downvoted to oblivion and eventually blanked out due to downvotes. Dupe threads would get lessened because the topic being upvoted will be seen clearly, instead of having to search for it. And the best threads and comments would get upvoted.

That would only work if they got rid of post count and this crappy points system.  Too many users on this site who make useless threads for points/postcount and they all post in eachothers threads postcount/point farming.

Great suggestion.

By dumping the post and points systems they would almost instantly eradicate spammers and also potentially cut down the amount of bad thread ideas tossed around here.

 

This should seriously be considered.
