Price, more power, public perception, geographical brand loyalty? Many factors at play here. Right now PS4 sells PS4, not its games.

And how do you think public perceptions and loyalty are generated? They surely are not spontaneous.

If you love the products and services of one brand and know whats coming up in the next 5 years, you dont ditch them for another brand who has slightly better games today.

Even if you are right, that just means things will get worse for X1. If PS4 is selling PS4 right now... what will happen when games start selling the PS4 as well?

If he wants to argue that PS4 isn't selling on games, he must imply that the XB1 can only be sold on its games and not the merits of the console as a whole.

Is PS4 that good that it is both better than XB1 and its games combined? March NPD sure suggests that.
