What on Earth am I reading here..........you........obviously have never touched ESO.

This game couldn't be ANY farther from WOW. FFARR is way closer to WOW than ESO. And the questing system is ESO is the best of any MMO I've ever seen. There's actually a metric ton of plot and lore.

I've never seen a game where so many people are complaining about it, without ever having played it. Seriously anyone whose playing this game right now and reads stuff like this has to be dumbfounded. There are problems with the game for sure but............wow the ones you list here are not them.

Just because I didn't like the game, does not mean I didn't play it. You aren't addressing any of my points your just venting your frustation with the criticism of the game. I haven't played FFARR at all, which is why I never even mentioned it and would not know if it was like WOW at all, but I have played WOW, other MMORPGS, MMOFPSes, MMO Fighters, and MMOTPS. So to me the quests are barely more intringuing then SWOTR which also had fully voice acted quest, it was simply more relatable because it was set in ES world and I am still playing Skyrim.

I understand Shikamaru's points here for reference: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6247483

but at the same time compared to the repotoire of MMOs and Games I play, ESO's combat fails to impress me at all, even Tera Online 2, which I could only play for 2 weeks, despite being FTP I had to uninstall it because it was so boring, had a similar combat system, and the MMMTPS i've been playing for about 2-3 years till today, S4league, is orders magnitude more fun for me then ESO.

It's not hard to see why ESO's combat wouldn't interest me at all. And I am busy enough, with my character in Skyrim that spending time in Tamriel is not as exciting.

So ESO bores me, Like SWTOR and like WOW. In fact, despite the combat being different from WOW, the grindinest is the same, and the social features are dismal compared to it, so you're right, in that aspect its not like WOW, which has 10 years of polish behind it, its worse.

All the typical trappings of a modern MMO are here, different starting points/clans that "change" the gameplay such as avaliable quests and etc, rather than freely choosing the path of your charcter. Why can't I be a sell sword, unloyal to any group, simply doing quests for money? NPCs whose only importance is to give me another quest. Why is it so obvious who players are and NPCs are? They are both supposed to be members of the same world? Why can't I friend NPCs, build relationships with them, by doing quests for them and etc? Why do NPCs only move around when a quest tells them to.

My Issues with ESO are fundamental and it stems from issues I have had with MMOs in general frow way back when to now, and for me the promise of an online Skyrim, which would break away from the mold, thus it had me hyped, but they delivered something more akin to an Online Morrowind, which in itself is not a bad game, but they obviously MMOized it, and as such I was dissapointed, disintrested, and disillusioned by it. After 4 betas, I knew that the issues I had with the game where fundamental in its design and could not be fixed so I knew that I did not want to buy the game at all, lest I would be attempting to resell it right now.

I understand why people, Like this game, I just don't, and for me the issues are more then just cosmetic, so even if this game went FTP I probably would not play it regardless.

EDIT: In fact, with the exception of combat and social interaction, I agree wholeheartidly with Shikamaru's review, BUT, and this is why i don't value metacritic, reviewers, or other people's opinions when deciding what games I like, the stuff he mentioned i.e. story, audio, quests, graphics, I expected all of that to be good, its the fundamental core gameplay that I have issue with, my interaction with the world, NPCs, and other players that I care about in an mmo. If I wanted good story, audio, quests, and graphics, I could just play skyrim with ENB or something, in fact every single one of my skyrim playthroughs have been unique I'm always discovering new things, so I have easily spent over 1000 hours in skyrim.

Its more than complex then saltiness that I have to pay for the MMO, I wouldn't play it when it was free as beta, why would I pay for it now because it has more content? Content which means nothing to me if I don't enjoy game enough to even reach the endgame and enjoy all that extra content.
