ESO at least has some Skyrim like mechanics to it's combat, for instance the basic attack and blocking being tied to the mouse instead of to number keys. And the first person view definitely helps to make it feel more like an Elder Scrolls game to me. Honestly I'm not going to let some grindy but still fun combat get in the way of what seemed to be a great story, nor in the way of exploring new regions of Tamriel that we've yet to see in the main series recreated with gorgeous artwork. |
True. I just wish it had more combat options. It feels more like morrowind/oblivion online then what I was expecting as Skyrim Online. Stealth, magical traps, environmental destruction and damage, these were all things I was looking forward to and I guess at the most generic level of skyrim combat e.g sword and shield, single sword, or dual sword its pretty accurate.
In Skyrim I could clear entire rooms just by shooting an arrow into a pot and causing that pot to drop in a pool of oil. Poison arrows with paralysis so that I could avoid a physical altercation. As a glass cannon stealth archer/mage, its obvious how I was dissapointed, but your opinion is valid as well.
