/thread right there.  Nintendo could've had an MMO Pokemone game with NFC figurines on top of it raking in all kinds of cash, but they'd rather just put out the same lazy sequels generation after generation.

Nintendo does like making sequels. But lazy sequels? Or do you mean they are lazy for releasing sequels a lot of times?

Lazy as in they've essentially been rehashing the same game on handhelds each generation for almost 20 years now with minor facelifts each time, and on consoles they've yet to release a full-fledged 3D Pokemon game that isn't some type of spinoff or battle-fest.
