Mario Kart 8's Final Roster Will Only Have 30 Characters!? <(o_O<)

It mentions Birdo and Dry Bones who might be in the question mark spots (But let's face it, it putting in characters like that you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel, just because the likes of Wiggler was in Mario Kart 7 doesn't mean he should be back in 8). Diddy Kong definitely won't be in it, he is not even from the Mario franchise, he's from DKC. The Mii won't be on the main roster either, if the Mii is there it will likely be from a different menu since the Wii U can store multiple Miis whereas the 3DS only locks in one.

So I am asking again, who else do you expect to be in the game? Also, why do you think 30 is a small number when it is much higher than the prior 2 games?
