But I think everyone is pointing to the wrong greed here. 

EA wanted the Xbox One DRM to be the standard for home consoles. Like really really bad. You seen them back Sony and the PS3 when Sony had the Online Pass hard on. And they backed Microsoft for that console DRM

The greed wasn't just up front moneyz, but the elimination of used game resells

Also who thought the Xbox One would win out this gen??? What data could anyone seen that was even somewhat legit? I know predictions can go either way. But to even consider Xbox One beating PS or Nintendo, when it has never happened in the previous 2 gens, and Xbox only doing well in the USA is very very wishful thinking

So you come back to the only reasonable answer. Xbox One and it's planned DRM made EA happy. 

EA is a very funny company imo. 

Sony had no problem with used games, they just demanded ten dollars for the online portion of the games like EA did. They never took it any further than that.
