That's true, and PSP had a lot more then just Monster Hunter. Gran Turismo, God of War, Grand Theft Auto, plus lots of support from Square Enix (Crisis Core, FF remakes, etc)

MH was PSP's Pokemon/Wii Sports/Halo though, the one series that made it huge. (in Japan)

PSP did well outside of Japan too, and it wasn't because of Monster Hunter.

PSP got bitchslapped by DS outside Japan. Only there was it even close to competitive.
