Storage with an HDD, loading from SD cards, something along those lines...seems like a no-brainer to me.
Hell, the memory expansion on the N64 was more of a risk, because it meant certain games didn't look as good or didn't even run without that add-on.
An HDD would only OPEN opportunities, unless of course games started REQUIRING the HDD.
Still, I don't think casuals wouldn't understand what a hard drive is and what it means for gaming. They'd be willing to drop 20-50 on one easy.
