If anyone should go mobile, it's Sony, isn't it?

How many people own a Vita compared to the millions of smartphones out there? Also, financially, Sony's is a much worse place than Nintendo ever was.

What handheld games can Sony put on these devices? None! Sony doesn't have the franchises or library that Nintendo has built over the years for their handhelds. Sony can't put Vita games on smartphones because they can't run them, or even at all. Also, what would be the point of buying a Vita if the games are on mobile? And this isn't about money, out of the big three, Nintendo is the only company that is able to do it.

@ bolded; what would be the point of buying a Nintendo system if its games are on mobile? And if it's not about money, why would they even put their games on mobile? Just for the fun of it...? Also, this is what's in the OP:

'I could imagine them selling these games for $5 and making a good amount of money from it'.

So is it about the money or isn't it? You can't have it both ways.

I'm not saying put DS/3DS titles on mobile, that would obviously affect Nintendo in a bad way. Who's buying a Game Boy Color to play Pokemon? And you brought up Sony's financials in your post. This thread isn't a Nintendo doomed thread and me saying how they can gain profit. The main point is that Nintendo is the only company that could pull this off. If Sony could do this, I would put them in the title.
