Ok, well your only argument is that they couldn't do without a disc drive.
Ok well, fine. I'll concede that point to you. Doesn't do much to change the OP.
99$ external BR add on. There you go.

That would be even dumber no one really buys add ons its one of the main reasons why Sega failed as a console maker 32X and Sega CD.

Actually xbox360 proved that add-ons work.
Proprietary hard drive addon. Proprietary HDDVD Add-on Proprietary WiFi dongle add-on Proprietary camera
Those all worked really well in padding the bottom line while cutting costs.
Sega's problem was making NEW CONSOLES add-ons.
XB360 had a SKU with no hard-drive, no wifi, and DVD9, and yet all that hardware sold well. Then they had the elite, which had all the extras packed in for a higher price.
I'm not sure I see how this is THAT different. The point is to get the cost lower without removing kinect.
What're your thoughts? Remove kinect?

All the X1 needs is more games and they are going to announce a ton at E3 also its still off to a better start then the 360 both in software sales and hardware sales and the 360 launched in a lot more regions then the X1 did.
