Well I'm here to tell you it's not a conspiracy theory. In fact there is plenty of evidence about it. You need to check articles from the N64 era or the Gamecube era, heck even on the Wii era we had negative news about Nintendo. Don't you remember guys about this?
Seem pretty obvious they where talking about Nintendo. But let's not stay with that only! Don't you remember the backlash that the gamecube recieved because it looked like a "kids toy". There is a whole section about the "kiddy image" of the Gamecube. Well you get the point guys, it's just a little research and BAM! you can find all sort of negative articles about Nintendo. And over the course of the years, that weakened Nintendo. That, coupled with an incredible apathy from third party developers to publish their games on Nintendo platforms, have sunk the Wii U to new lows. And with that Nintendo now sinks to new lows. So how long is Nintendo going to keep making games and creating hardware? Is the QOL their way of saying "We surrender, at last!"? How long is Nintendo going to try to go against an industry that seems to be against it? |
You say "even" during the Wii era there was negative backlash. Actually, that's all there was, both in the ramp up to launch and after it had taken the world by storm. You see, no matter what it does, Nintendo can never "win," even when they're "printing money." It really just has to do with the cynical nature of the internet and the tendency to tear down established monoliths of gaming (or any industry).
To answer your question: Nintendo will not and should not give up. They should be true to themselves and their vision and continue working on ways to disrupt the normal flow of entertainment. Thankfully, their pockets are large enough to keep them going, despite the pitchforks and flaming crosses the fanboys carry.
