The personal viewer from Sony has two 1280X720 micro-displays, while Rift has a single display made from a smartphone screen.

Also a Move wand sells for like $25 now. Putting its tech in a VR headset is relativly really cheap. OC shouldn't have issues hitting $400 and Sony with mass production shouldn't have any issues staying competitive.

Just received new SDK update for PS4, litterally an hour ago.

A bit of codetree searching has revealed the following to me:

These lights are used for movement tracking on top of the hardware tracking, to keep track of lean/movement of the player, so leaning to one side would bring you lower in the game as in real life, these sdk updates are still very much "development" versions but yeah.

PS move style addons are most likely only going to be needed for some games as an option to the DS4 lightbar.

In addition to that, theres also code to manually control "internal peripheral illumination". so i would guess theyre including RGB leds beyond the LCD to extend the effect beyond the screen area.

Lucky. America is all sleep right now so I need to wait till morning to get the goods.

Also yeah the light bars are much easier to see in the real pictures verse the renders:
