What do you mean?  What is there for me to understand that is in the original post?  I'm responding to what I understand, which I understand fully, undertstand?

Nintendo needs to leverage their exisiting IPs, not create more IPs that require updates every generation.  Just ask the Star Fox, FZero, and Chibi Robo fans.

Imagine a game you can control a Galatic Fedaration soldier or Space Pirate. Don't have to be CoD or Halo clone. Metroid universe (lulz) has enough content to make it real. And if Nintendo do that, they will still be Nintendo

Bolded, Bolded/Copied for emphasis.

I completely understand the concept.  I stand by my reasoning, however.  I'm not coming at this from a "wouldn't it be cool" angle, but rather from the standpoint of watching too many franchises get neglected in favor of questionable spinoffs.  You make spinoffs when a game sells so amazingly well that you can print money just featuring its characters.  The Metroid franchise does not sell well, sadly enough.  I don't think creating another game in its universe will do anything except fragment the existing audience.
