Don't worry they'll have a Quality of Life senior citizen/soccer mom health box for the types of games you seem to get excited about, so that's already covered. Those of us who want a good normal modern SNES style console (which is the majority of stable game console buying audience IMO) can have their flavor of ice cream, Wii U can be repositioned more a family/kids box (already trending this way anyhow).
Everyone gets what they want, Nintendo gets a wider audience to offer their games to and their dev teams are freed up of having to make 2 versions of every staple Nintendo IP, which opens the door to more Nintendo IPs getting a chance or more original IP being made.
