I dont think thats exactly right. I think it just shows that theyre still trying to build the fanbase by doing an easy port. The real "test" so to say will be when they stop the cross-gen stuff, like theyre doing with Arkham Knight. We will know if the Wii U games made money if devs decide to port Gen 8 titles to the system.
Arkham City sold 200,000 units. Arkham Origins has sold 150,000 units. Arkham Knight is missing Wii U.
AC3 sold 240,000 units. AC4 has sold 150,000 units... The same as Origins.
CoD Blops 2 sold 230,000 units. CoD Ghosts has sold 130,000 units... Less than Origins.
And just so you know, Im saving this post for the next time we have a discussion about EA's Wii U support

Assassin's Creed 4 has sold 30,000 units so far in 2014 as of 22nd February. It needs another 250k units to break 400k.
