If you want a Pokemon game to back into Pokemon, I definitely wouldn't play Black/White/Black2/White2. There's no real post game content, so once you beat the game, that's basically it. BW have the most new Pokemon, but they also have no old Pokemon, so it's not really the best revisit as a result.

As far as I remember, no Pokemon game but Pokemon XY have side quests, and the Looker quest is post game content. However, most of them have side content that can be very enjoyable or kind of stupid. BW has one of the worst with Pokemon Musicals, but B2W2 has one of the best, with Pokestar Studios. However, like someone else said, you can't really play 2 without playing 1.

As for Pokemon Platinum, I'll explain further why you should play it by expanding on all of your points:

- A lot of different Pokemons that can hook me for weeks.

Pokemon Platinum has a Pokedex size of 210 before you beat the game and the number basically doubles. It has a fantastic mix of new and old Pokemon and does an even better job of taking old Pokemon and evolving them into new ones, so even with some of the newer guys, you'll be vaguely familiar with them.

- Great story, one that makes me read what's happening instead of raping the A button.

Again, the story is not on The Last of Us levels, but for what it is, it's great. You're stopping a man who wants to tamper with the fabrics of time and space through this games legendary Pokemon, Dialga and Palkia, but things don't quite go as planned. The gym leaders all have personality and the companion, Barry, while really hyperactive impatient, is ultimately kind and likable and goes through touching and noticeable character development, something most Pokemon games lack.

There are spoilers out there, so I'd advise you NOT to look at any reviews. Perhaps look at numerical scores, but there is one spoiler about this game that EVERY review brings up, so DON'T spoil it for yourself, because discovering it for yourself will give you the best experience.

- A lot of side quests or missions (if that's possible)

While there aren't any real side quests, Pokemon Platinum has a LOT of side content. There are Pokemon Contests, an addictive mini game that has you use battle commands, rhythm, and decorations to participate in a sort of "beauty contest" with your Pokemon. Your pokemon have Contest stats that are increased by making these pastries called Poffins, which are a minigame all on their own. There is the Sinnoh underground, which is this entire underground tunnel system where you can mine for important items like Pokemon fossils, play mini games, and create a secret base that you can decorate into your own little bachelor pad. There is the Wifi Plaza with even more mini games. You can costomize the Pokeball animation your Pokemon have with Pokeball seals.

- Something to do after I beated the Pokemon league, and that's interesting

After you beat the Pokemon league, the entire Battle Frontier opens up where you can battle in these five facilities that have you battle with specific quirky rules and limitations and then battle the leaders to gain their "tokens." It's really fun, and WAY more challenging than the gym leaders. The battle frontier is part of this entire mini region where you can catch exotic Pokemon, battle tougher trainers, and you even get a surprise gift from a stranger that's pretty bad ass and gives you a reason to spend obscene amounts of money.

- Gigantic map compared with Pokemon G/S/C

The Pre and post game map is so huge that they had to split the Sinnoh region into East and West Sinnoh. And the Battle Frontier Island.

Thank you so much! You convienced me that I should buy Pokemon Platinum first and continue with Black/white 1/2. You are right, I won't look for any reviews, because I want to keep everything a surprise and don't want to have any clue what I can expect. Hopefully I will like it a lot. For everyone else, thanks for taking your time to tell me what I can expect with every version =)

Let me know what you thought of the game once you beat it! :)
