I don't agree with much of what Iwata says, but he was correct when he said that Nintendo needed deep pockets or they won't survive even one console failure. There's no need to blow the deep pockets they have now on the WiiU, best to just ride it out as close to being profitable as possible and try again with a console that might resonate with the public more in a few years time.


Sometimes manufacturing more would cost less. In other words, sometimes the boost from a 50 dollar cut would make cost of production go down. Then you make up the rest of the loss by SW and accessory sales = more profitable
