Retro Star Fox actually makes a lot of sense IMO. Nintendo banked on Retro to reboot Metroid and DKC, Star Fox would be a natural fit and would be a new type of challenge for the studio.
There's a lot of untapped potential with the Star Fox IP too ... you would have the freedom to make a pretty cool space opera storyline for example.
