Hmm... it is just a Donkey Kong Country Returns 2. It at sometimes even feels like a heavily modified New Super Mario Bros Wii. Donkey Kong needs to do something that would have surprised us. DKCR did well because a real DKC hasn't been around sense 3. You can't force success.
