I still feel Nintendo's IP's are brilliant, Zelda, Mario etc. If Nintendo had released a properly designed console with competitive hardware so the console was widely supported by mulitformat games (good versions) plus had its own exclusive Nintendo games then the console would have sold well depending on price.
The wii u is poorly designed, over-priced, under-powered and has only a handful of mulitformat games most of which are inferior to ps3 and 360. It's not hard to see why most people aren't interested in it. Nintendo's games need to be the icing on the cake not the only reason to buy the console. Yes its Nintendo's fault because the wii u is appalling value on so many levels.
Ultimately the wii u won't sell until Nintendo have priced it really low. Nintendo have massively damaged their brand and profitability by releasing wii u and hopefully their next console will have some respect for consumers and not just try to shaft them with pathetic hardware at inflated prices.
