The people defending EA are trolling is the long and short of my belief, that their decision to back out was made before they got any results in (Need for Speed was just too far in to kill off, unlike Crysis 3, and props to Criterion for finishing it, but EA also refused to support it with DLC). The people who defend EA either don't get what went on, or do get it and are just trolling. There is no honest defense for them otherwise.

EA's sidemouthed statements trying to justify their horseshit make me want to punch someone.

So, yeah. This is why i don't want to talk about it. Just makes me insult people and then get madder from there.

Thats bullshit about Crysis 3. It was up and running on Wii U and Crytek said it was very close to launching. It was purely a business decision to not release it... You could probably argue that it was further along in development than Need for Speed too when you consider Crysis was actually supposed to release in February 2013.

If you really think that people are just trolling, then I think that you quite clearly arent getting it. Did you evenr ead what I just put?

Nintendo -

"They want what all third parties want and what we want: for the install base to grow"

"We're confident that once some of these games come out that we have planned between now and the holiday and into 2014, that it will help drive the install base and when that happens the platforms will look more enticing to third parties."

EA -

"Look, the only thing they can do to fix it is to sell more boxes. We're a rational company, we go where the audience is. We publish games where we think we can make a great game and hit a big audience, and make money."

"In fact, the last Need for Speed shipped 60 days ago had a pretty good Metacritic. It was a good game. It wasn't a schlocky port, we actually put extra effort into getting everything to work. And it's just not selling because there's no boxes."

"If it becomes a viable platform from an audience standpoint, we'll jump back in."

Both EA and Nintendo seemingly recognise the problem, why cant you? Its not only affecting 3rd party software, its apparently starting to harm Nintendo software also (and thus Nintendo's profits). The userbase isnt there. Nintendo are struggling to create a userbase. 3rd parties dont want to develop on it because of the lack of a userbase. The only real hope for the system is that a cut, alongside Kart/Smash, will inject new life into Wii U. If things stay as they are doing, you can kiss Gamecube numbers goodbye.

Both EA and Nintendo, in seperate interviews, talk about why EA arent currently on Wii U.

Fuck. EA are still developing for the Wii. They released FIFA 14 for the Wii, Khan. They released FIFA 14 for 3DS. Hell, they released it for the PSP of all things. Theyre running a business. If they wanted rid of Nintendo, they wouldnt still be surporting Nintendo platforms with the "roster updates" that hundreds of thousands of people are willing to buy.

The Wii U isnt a financially viable platform. They are under no obligation to develop games for Wii U when the userbase simply isnt there and its growing at an incredible rate on other, more powerful platforms. This isnt trolling, its stating facts - The Wii U currently isnt a financially viable platform to develop for.

But that is NOT why EA stopped. That is the point.
