Maybe not.  The Sony fanbase is like a grizzly bear.  You can fight back but they will only attack more viciously.  If the Nintendo/Microsoft fans play dead, there's a chance the Sony fans will grow bored and go eat salmon from the river or steal honey from bees or something.

Have no fear. Now that our hunger has been satiated by the endless tears of opposing fanboys we will enter a generation long hibernation cycle :)

On a serious note congrats to Sony and I hope that both Microsoft and Nintendo keep working harder to make Sony deserve their number 1 sales ranking.
