No, all you said looks like a bad idea for now. The only thing that the wiiu needed and still need to be successful are games, lots of them and a real marketing plan. Saying its to late for harcore gamers after only a year on the market with no games to attract them is not what I would call a long term analysis of the situation at hand. What Nintendo aims is the family, not the kids. It would be a great mistake to focus on kids only as they grow up fast, have no money and tend to change their view on things in a microsecond. Nintendo have IPs for all group of age and style, but they are not currently on the Wii U and that's their biggest problem.
