I Believe over that last 3 generations, people have now come to realise that they only buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games. The wii cost $250 and came with a killer title, before that there most expensive console was $200 at launch, so to ask for $300 with no must have title, people are just walking away, but they will come back when they see that $200 price, to play those Nintendo games. 

 

No one buys Nintendo to play 3rd party games, PS4 is selling great guns because it has no competition, its the Best spec at the lowest price for 3rd party games, if the XO had a lower price than PS4 or a higher spec than PS4, then things would be a lot closer.

@ the bolded part...i still dont see it selling well but i guess we will just have to wait and see 

i think the only reason ps4 is breaking sales record and oustselling the wiiu is because of the brandname

No as we saw last gen, people are willing to ignore the PS brand when they launch an overpriced console. Same is happening now for Nintendo and MS.

yeah price is helping it too..not denying that

look at what happened to ps3 and 3ds when the price was dropped and what both had in common was strong brand...sorry but i dont the same thing happening to wiiu

PS3 and 3DS sales sure did pick up with there price drops, but they both gonna sell alot worst than there predecessor.
