My point is that one big seller like GTA doesn`t sustain the industry. You need a lot "GTA`s" per year and saddenly thats not the case. In fact, the minority of the games dont make a profit, and thats why developers are closing their studios.


No, you dont need a lot of games that break 1 billion dollar revenue in 3 days, that's idiotic. Naughty Dog's Uncharted games are what you'd consider AAA in every regard, yet they are much less expensive to create (<20m$) and are always profitable.

If the product is good, it'll make a profit, if its not, it wont. Its the same basic concept in every single industry. But lets not kid ourselves. If Nintendo was on top, you'd be singing a very different tune.
