After Japans first week sales,, will PS4 be over Wii U globally?- needs about 400,000 it seems

I am starting to feel good about numbers in Japan though. Anecdotal evidence really sounds like what happened more or less in the west.

Actually the anecdotal evidence(mainly pictures) made me less confident.

The PS4 is still sold out in most stores in the west. Stock is pretty tight. I doubt Sony would over-ship to the region unless they made a massive screwup with their estimations. If PS4s are still easy to find come Sunday morning, then I'd get worried.
