Good thing I said CONSOLE GAMING and not all forms of gaming. People have been playing on their mobile phones for years so even without the Wii smartphone gaming would be just as big right now, that type of gaming just naturally grew with the number of smartphone owners it had nothing to do with the Wii.

I would sayit grew with the hardware power of these owners and the more easy way to distribute games (App Store and Google Play). I remember in 2007 when a Nokia N95 with a 335 Mhz CPU and 160MB of RAM was a totally high-end device. 2 years later we had 1GHz CPU, 4 years and we got dual core processors. Since the iPhone, these devices got a lot of power and screen resolution to achieve a good gaming experience.

Sure but that was also a natural part of the smartphone development and had nothing to do with the Wii or something. ;)
