Console.... industry..... dying.....
This model does not work, wake up people!!

And guess which manufacturer will contribute the most to the coming market contraction?

At least you seem to have faced the facts, which is good news I guess. I agree that the traditional model is going out of fashion, in several senses of the word.

The same manufacturer wich expanded it to insane levels.

By selling 100m consoles, less than two of Sony's consoles that came before? It didn't really expand the market, it just inflated it for a short while.

I wasn´t talking about the Wii.

Oh. Then what was your point? There's no denying that most of the apparent "contraction" is due to Nintendo's recent fall from grace after enjoying a few short years at the top of everything.

3rd party publishers, the bread and butter of this industry, failing again and again to make a viable profit on Nintendo's consoles, while many of them enjoy massive successes on MS and Sony's.

Yet here you are saying MS and Sony are to blame. I don't get your logic.

I think third parties failed on the wii, because they didn't try to do anything. For every 100 shovel ware titles, there was one mad world or killer 7, and those were only weak attempts at best. I do agree third parties are the bread and butter, but to call them having massive success is an over statement, with developers shutting their doors like never before, with irrational games potentially being the latest. The way I see it is that the wii made some third parties a little extra cash, while the rest of them did what they were going to do anyhow, make games on the ps360. While those companies fought for market share  On an over saturated marketplace that left many bankrupt or close to it.

Only a small handful of third parties truly enjoyed massive success, activision, rock star, and left many hurting... Square enix, and a whole list of developers that closed their doors.

Don´t even bother, he won´t listen.
Long live PS!
