More to it than that though.  Retailers get the double wallet penetration with none of these being able to be sold on the second hand market (Looking at you Gamestop).  

While the publishers do get something extra out of this...no used sales.  

True.. Retail is hurting.. but with this could also be the reason why digital is so expensive while we all think it should be cheaper.. Publishers want the same margin they have at retail but when the Digital Store owner charges this much the prices stay high.. truely interessting bit from Capcom to have a glimps at the digital vs retail sales..
