Here is what I think the line up should have looked like for this year.
Feb-Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
April-Mario Kart 8
June-Super Smash Bros U
This trifecta of games along with Super Mario 3D World last November consists of some of Nintendo's biggest and most consistant selling series (every game in these series has sold over 5 million with they exception of DKC3) all releasing in an 8 month span. This would likely get any Nintendo fan who hasnt gotten a Wii U yet to jump on board, giving Wii U a very strong first half of the year.
Now that the install base has gone up by a solild margin and baseline sales have increased its time to release the more hardcore niche franchises. In the Summer months release Bayonetta 2 and X but dont just send them out to die. Have TV spots on Spike TV and during Adult Swim.
For the last quarter release Hyrule Warriors and Yarn Yoshi plus the mega hyped NFC title, either Pokemon or a Skylanders esque game using Nintendo characters. Advertise the hell out of it and make it the must have game for children during the holidays.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
