I don't think VGC was this far off last year for NPD's January report, although I can't remember all that well. (There's links in the OP, if you want to check.)

I was definitely expecting a YoY increase, but it seems the tides are against Nintendo.

Went and checked. Actually, the situation with the Wii U is similar to last year, but more so. From 79 to 57 last year, and 86 to 49 this year.

What's actually a bit more shocking to me, now that I think about it, si the 3DS, 360, and X1 difference...

As far as Nintendo goes, if something doesn't change drastically, I think they're in for a rough year.
