Exactly. While they were busy fucking up the Playstation they couldn't stop Google taking over the Internet and Apple taking over digital media (and both soon taking over mobile computing). Despite the Xbox, despite XBox Live, Live, Vista and all their other new ideas, Microsoft is today in a weaker position with consumers than it was 5 years ago.
Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.
