Honestly the main reason it will actually make a difference is that 3rd party developers actually optimize their games for Sony and MS hardware. They put their best teams on games MS and Sony platforms. 3rd party titles are rarely optimized for Nintendo hardware and are usually pawned off on the "C" team of the developer. The fact that the PS4 and XBO architectures are so similarly only exacerbates the issue.
