I have 9 retail games; Nintendo Land, NSMBU, Lego City Undercover, Game & Wario, NSLU, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, The Wind Waker HD and Super Mario 3D World.

For downloads I got NES Remix, plus som VC titles like Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Kirby's Adventure, Balloon Fight and so on.

Yes, this is the kind of buying behavior that causes third parties to flee from the console. Out of 9 retail games only one 3rd party, you my friend are part of the problem.

I'm part of the problem? Almost none third party games on the Wii U has interested me in the slightest, and the third parties offerings are abysmal compared to their efforts on competing consoles. I wanted to buy Most Wanted U because of the PC-level graphics, and then I remembered that the Gamepad hasn't analog triggers. I wanted to buy Sonic Lost World, until I tried the demo, and didn't like it.

If I'm not compelled to buy more third party games, then it's not my problem. For me, THIRD PARTY OFFERINGS ARE THE PROBLEMS, NOT THE CONSUMER.

EDIT. A more important case: I wanted to buy Mass Effect 3, but then I remembered that the whole trilogy was on competing consoles for the same price.

I agree, my third party purchases ratio was above 50% with the Wii and my current WiiU one is only 20%, and I think that will be reduced even further as time goes on if third party support remains the same.

I have yet to be impressed by any third party retail offering, since most of them are HD last gen type of games that didn't really interest me back then. Games that I could play on my PC if I really wanted to.
