Yeah it seems to me like the idea of a non-wearable sensor type device is actually less practical than a wearable or smartphone linked sensor. A senior citizen is better off with a watch/sensor that's always on their wrist rather than having to get up and walk into their bedroom or something to "check in" with Nintendo's non-wearable sensor or whatever.
