He's Reggie Fils-Aime. He's about kicking ass and taking names. So, it's the ass-kickery, followed by the name-takery
Does anyone else think his 'introduction' to the world at E3 '04 was amazing? From the moment he walked onstage, you could tell he had charisma, and that Nintendo had started on a new path.
Also, Rath=correct. The Xbox brand was never meant to dominate the market (of course it would have been a nice bonus). Sony was on track to make a system that took the media centre idea away from PC's, and they were doing very well at it. MS failed to make a sizeable dent in their marketshare last generation, so they came up with a plan and went with it. It worked--even if Sony does outsell them by a few percent (or even 10-20 million, though that won't happen), there is no way Sony will be selling 100 million consoles this generation (sorry). This is mostly due to MS (though the $599 price at the beginning didn't help much). Therefore, even if MS never makes a dime of profit (since they're still reeling from the $1 billion) on Xbox, they potentially saved the company as a whole from losing a crapload more.
