Don't get me wrong I still think this is a very big 'if', it would make little sense for Ubisoft to cancel this game at this late stage, but I think you've put the horse before the cart here, I can't buy a game they if they don't release it.
I have supported Ubisoft (and other worthy third party efforts) up to this point, but if they were to pull this game at this stage it would strongly indicate that they have little intention of providing the Wii U serious support going forward. If they cancelled Watch Dogs I would be disappointed but there would be little that I could then do to convince them to provide ongoing support to the Wii U, I've already done all I can, or at least all that I am willing to do up to this point.
I don't personally care whether Ubisoft has seen game sales that have matched their expectations on the Wii U, but for my part I have purchased 4 of their games. If they stop supporting the Wii U, I will do the only thing I as a consumer can do and that's express my dissatisfaction. They've already got my money and I can't sell my games back to them but I can show my frustration as a consumer buy potentially costing them new sales through making my games available second hand.
I will not stoop to purchasing second-tier releases in hopes that it might convince them to again consider 'real' support for the Wii U in the future because we saw how well that worked out on the Wii. They already burned WiiU owners once with the Rayman shenanigans, this would be a second time. Again this wouldn't necessarily stop me from supporting any of their future, quality releases but I can't buy a game that they don't release, and with this game in particular it would annoy me.
Having said all of that, I fully expect Watch Dogs to be released on the Wii U and if it's a good game, I will buy it :)
