A Nintendo console will always have droughts, but that said, games like Wonderful 101 and Assassin's Creed IV have sold what? Like 150k copies on a userbase of about 5 million? That means 95%+ of Wii U owners haven't played these games and they're perfectly fine titles that would fill in OK as you wait for DKC or Mario Kart.
Try something new for a change.
Sad thing is I think Nintendo has lost a lot of it's more diversified buyers, back in the day original 2nd party games or even good 3rd party software could sell, and even on the N64. But with the GameCube Nintendo seemed to lose this Nintendo fan to Microsoft or Sony and they've never come back.
Now Nintendo's just stuck with a bunch of fanatics that have Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/DK tunnel vision and won't support things like F-Zero or Wonderful 101 or just about any third party game. Even things like Pikmin are a tough sell and Bayonetta will likely flop.
