It happens. Contracts were probably signed well before the DRM fiasco and resolutiongate. EA had no-way of knowing this would happen and projections would have been very different at the time. I think the same thing happened with Sonic Lost World. The project probably started before the WiiU was released and they were expecting a userbase of double or triple the actual numbers. Ubisoft probably thought the VITA would be stronger when they began production of AC Liberation. Live and learn I guess. You place bets before a race starts and you have to accept you will lose sometimes.
